Carlisle crash: two teens to front court after allegedly stealing and crashing car

TWO 16-year-old Kewdale boys will appear in court today after they allegedly stole a car and crashed into a letterbox in Carlisle.

Kensington Detectives alleged that between 7.30pm on Wednesday and 12.15am on Thursday the youths stole car keys from a home in Neergabby before stealing a 2014 Holden Caprice, ramming through the gates of the property.

It will be further alleged about 6am on Thursday , the youths went to a service station located on Edwards Drive, Merriwa.

They put fuel in the stolen vehicle before staff terminated the pumps.

The driver began driving away prior to the passenger getting inside the vehicle and the passenger was crushed against a bollard, injuring his arm.

About 9.45am on Thursday the youths were driving in a reckless manner along Marchamley Street in Carlisle.

The vehicle crashed into a brick letterbox and the youths ran before being apprehended by police .

The two boys will appear in the Perth Children’s Court today on a number of charges.

The first boy is charged with two counts of stealing, two counts of failing to stop after a traffic crash, one count of aggravated burglary, stealing a motor vehicle and driving recklessly, having no authority to drive, endangering the life, health and safety of a person and criminal damage.

The second boy has been charged with two counts of stealing, one count of aggravated burglary, stealing a motor vehicle and possession a cannabis.
