THE Carlisle father accused of murdering his wife and the mother of their children will remain behind bars following his second court appearance last week.

Ahmed Dawood Seedat (36) appeared in the Supreme Court last Wednesday charged with murdering Fahima Yusuf (32), whose body was found buried behind their family home.

The mother of two was reported missing days before her remains were found buried in the backyard of their Weston Street home on September 5.

Mr Seedat was charged with murder and taken into custody soon after his wife’s body was found.

His first court appearance was on September 6, where bail was refused and he was remanded in custody.

Mr Seedat appeared in court again last week, where the magistrate again remanded him in custody and set a hearing call-over date for October 31.

The couple’s two children, aged two and five, are being cared for by family members.
