Celebrations of life

Staff ReporterSouthern Gazette

‘Tell Us Your Stories’ are colourful, expanded obituaries aimed at celebrating the lives of genuine, unsung members of the community and allow for families to share their loved ones stories.

Community Newspaper Group group editor-in-chief Greg Thomson said the obituaries would add to the rich tapestry of the community.

‘We see it as our role to capture the lives of every day people,’ he said at the launch last week.

Seasons’ general manager Erin Erceg said she believed that in an era where people viewed death, and therefore funerals, more as a celebration of life than an event of mourning, it made sense to have a farewell in keeping with the unique spirit of the individual.
