Thats the question the City of Belmont is asking the community as they prepare a long-term vision for the heart of the City.
The Faulkner Civic Precinct, bounded by Wright Street, Robinson Avenue and Abernethy and Alexander roads is set to undergo a long-term makeover once a master plan has been developed to shape ongoing activity and development.
City of Belmont chief executive Stuart Cole said the City engaged consultants GHD to assist with the preparation of the plan.
The precinct comprises the Citys administrative functions, some community facilities and major recreation facilities. It is central to employment, shopping, entertainment, education and residential areas, he said,
The master plan is envisaged to examine pedestrian and vehicle movement, infrastructure and services, land uses, recreation, building placement, internal connections, key features and will include concept plans.
The long-term vision is to reinforce the precinct as the centre of Belmont; a vibrant and active place that all members of the community can enjoy and participate in, Mr Cole said.
The City is asking the community to take part in a survey to share ideas, experiences and expectations of how the Faulkner Civic Precinct should be used.
Mr Cole expected the plan would likely identify potential upgrades and redevelopment of community facilities.
