Charity strikes a winning combination

Staff ReporterSouthern Gazette

Perth Heat general manager Alex Pellerano shaved his long hair at a school assembly on March 14 alongside the staff, who dyed their hair, to raise funds and awareness for the Foundation as part of the World’s Greatest Shave.

For Heat, supporting the Foundation is part of the ongoing support of fellow baseball player Ben Shorto, who was signed to professional American baseball team, the Cleveland Indians, when he was diagnosed with leukaemia.

Mr Pellerano said Ben was respected in the community and the Greatest Shave was a great cause to be a part of for a second year in a row.

‘It’s not about the style or the feeling, just helping the cause,’ he said.
