Chelsea touch in down in Perth ahead of Glory clash

FA CUP winners Chelsea were welcomed to Perth today ahead of Monday’s marquee match with Perth Glory at Optus Stadium.

The Premier League giants bring a 25-man squad littered with stars including Cesc Fabregas, David Luiz, Marcos Alonso, Pedro and new signing Jorginho.

It will be new Chelsea FC coach Maurizio Sarri’s first game in charge following his appointment on the weekend.

Chelsea will also be the first international soccer club to appear at the stadium, and the first time it has been to Perth since 1974.

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas said he is looking forward to the trip.

“The boss said the expectation was to see what we are going to find because it is my first time here,” he said.

“I have a friend, he has been telling me very nice stuff and for the first I time I can say I agree with him.

“We already trained this morning and it was a good session and a fantastic place, so thank you for welcoming us this way.

“We are very happy to be here and we hope to put on a very good performance.”

The match on Monday night starts at 7:25pm and will be live exclusively on SBS
