Chief leaves ‘best job’ of his career

He gave his three months notice to councillors in December, but his last day at the council will be January 31.

The council decided at a special meeting on December 23 to appoint its Renew Life Program director Anthony Vuleta as acting chief executive for 12 months.

The council will make a recruitment decision closer to the end of the acting arrangement.

Mr Kyron said he and his wife were looking forward to relocating to the eastern states.

‘There are major challenges at Waverley Council that are similar to here, including Local Government Reform,’ Mr Kyron said.

‘The decision has been difficult because I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Town and the challenges the position of CEO has presented to me,’ he said.

‘I have seen the organisation go through some amazing changes over the past four years, due mostly to the efforts of the great Town of Victoria Park team and the council.’

‘We are sad to see Arthur leave the Town, but I wish him all the best for this incredible next step in his career,’ Mayor Trevor Vaughan said.

‘I know I speak for all of the staff and elected members when I say that he will be missed greatly, but we wish him and his family all the best for the future.’
