Mrs Allbeury received a $400 cash prize for her photograph of her late husband Barney Allbeury, taken in 1948 at the Belmont Avenue Dairy.
City of Belmont Mayor Cr Phil Marks congratulated Mrs Allbeury on her win.
Some 132 photographs from 25 entrants were entered into the inaugural City of Belmont Local History Photographic Competition, which is an outstanding result in the first year, Cr Marks said.
These photos will help us to continue to build the City of Belmonts historical photographic collection and are wonderful examples of the fascinating history that can be found in Belmont.
We had a very difficult task of deciding on one winning photograph; so much so that after looking at the entries we insisted that three commendable photos be awarded, Cr Marks said.
The Citys Local History Photographic Competition invited participants to provide one or more historical photographs that had some connection to Belmont.
The winners included: Pam Hollings for her 1948 photograph of Mrs Effie Hollings; Ian Hollings and his cousin Adrian Henderson at the camp site on lot 1393, Fulham Street; Betty Burke for a late 1948/ early 1950 photograph of Beam Transport Bus Attendants Depot on Great Eastern Highway.
The photographs are on display at Ruth Faulkner Public Library and voting is open for the Peoples Choice Award, which closes on Friday.
