City planner wins top award

Her award follows the recent recognition of the City’s planning services manager, Juliette Hammah, as the Local Government Planning Association’s Professional Planner of the Year.

Mrs Douglas is the first person from local government to win the Stan Perron Lighthouse Award, which is open to young property professionals aged 25 years or under.

She is a statutory and strategic planning officer at the City, where she began working six years ago when she was 19.

Belmont Mayor Phil Marks commended her commitment to the City.

Mrs Douglas said the competition for the award was fierce and just to be considered among such a talented group of young people was humbling.
