Cricket with Lillee, pearls, diamonds, among Youth Focus Night of Nights Ball auction items

BACKYARD cricket with Dennis Lillee and a sculpture of a life-size fibreglass cow are just some of the auction items or experiences that can be bid on during Youth Focus’s Night of Nights Ball.

The 15th annual ball will take place at the Grand Ballroom at Crown Perth on Saturday, August 26 and after more than $500,000 was raised last year, there are hopes of breaking that record.

Money raised from the night will help Youth Focus provide its service to help young people living with depression or anxiety.

Among the 12 major auction items is a Australian South Sea Pearl and Argyle pink diamond pendant handcrafted in 18ct white and rose gold, which has been donated by Rohan Jewellery and is valued at $14,850.

Youth Focus chief executive Fiona Kalaf said she was delighted so many individuals and businesses were prepared to support the organisation.

“There are so many great items that in a perfect world you would bid on them all; you just need to look at the pendant, the artwork and the Jersey Girl cow,” she said.

“The funds from the night will go towards counselling sessions to help young people aged between 12 and 25 who are at risk of depression or suicide.

“It’s a fabulous night and it’s actually really uplifting.”
