LOCAL Curtin University students will head to the USA next month after securing a scholarship with the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

Curtin’s Leadership Centre, in partnership with the LEAP Foundation, offered the scholarship to select students to attend the LEAP program at UCLA.

Running in the last week of July, the LEAP Program incorporates influential workshops, exciting guest speakers, tours and presentations.

East Victoria Park’s Sophie van Dam, who is studying a Bachelor of Science, and South Perth’s Christian Ford who is studying a Bachelor of Commerce were two of around 500 lucky students selected from around the world.

The students will be housed in the UCLA dormitories and take part in a week of day and night development activities.
