To show his devotion to his old club and passion for junior footy, the former Manning Football Club and Richmond legend will visit the Rippers clubhouse on Saturday, bringing the entire Carlton Football Club team with him.

Ten years ago, the Manning Rippers football club went through a reboot after becoming nearly non-existent for eight years because of a drop in player numbers.

After more families moved into the area in 2005, parents and senior players went on a recruitment drive and managed to secure sponsorship from Jones Ballard Property Group.

Since that new beginning, club numbers have risen to 350 players across junior and youth divisions, making the Rippers the largest junior football club in Perth; something Shaun Yeo said the community could take credit for.

It really has been a massive community effort getting here, Shaun said.

The club is expecting about 400 people on Saturday and visitors are welcome.
