THE staff from professional office space provider Sitting Rooms recently embraced the challenge of dining together blindfolded.
Sitting Rooms, with other organisations in the same Victoria Park building, banded together to host a lunch with a twist for Guide Dogs WA.
While the team’s target was to raise $300, the diners managed to triple their goal amount and raised more than $800.
Sitting Rooms managing director Michael McLeod said he wanted his co-workers to join forces and light up the lives of those with vision impairment in WA.
“We think it is an excellent idea to raise awareness for Guide Dogs WA and it offered a unique social experience for our team to engage in,” he said.
“Due to the uniqueness of the event, people seemed open to donating and participating.”
All participants were encouraged to donate the normal cost of a dining experience to Guide Dogs WA.
While the event was positively received by participants, the simple act of eating proved to be a great challenge.
“Finding food on the plate was incredibly difficult,” Mr McLeod said.
“It was then equally hard to find my mouth once I had managed to get food on the other end of the fork.”
