Shane Patman is urging others to consider becoming blood donors.

He recently completed his 457th donation after reaching the 450 milestone in March.

Mr Patman started donating while he was at university in Sydney, but said it had since become part of his regular routine.

‘Once I graduated as a physiotherapist and returned to Perth, I always worked in acute hospitals and was exposed to sick patients, so I have constantly seen the need for donations,’ he said.

‘I have been blessed to be healthy and to be able to provide a helping hand to those in need of blood.

‘Each donation could help three people, so over the years some 1350 people have been impacted in some way by me giving a little time and blood’
