WHEN Belmont Forum’s Fresh Food Precinct is revealed to shoppers next Thursday it will “blow their minds”, according to centre manager Alexandra McAuliffe.

There will be 11 food specialists in the space, including La Belle patisserie and Dumplings and Duck by Canton Point, and access to the forum’s first playground that features public art by Mel McVee.

The precinct is the final major milestone of the centre’s $65 million redevelopment that started in 2015.

“No other shopping centre has a fresh food precinct like this,” Ms McAuliffe said.

“When we did the leasing we were very particular on creating a point of difference.

“We’ve tried to steer away from the chain brands by introducing things like French and Asian patisseries (La Belle and Breadtop).”

Ms McAuliffe said the redevelopment would include the forum’s first playground that would provide connectivity between the Faulkner Civic Precinct Community Centre, which is under construction, and the forum.

The Belmont Forum Fresh Food Precinct opens on Thursday at 8am.
