KENSINGTON Police Station lost power yesterday after a drunk driver knocked out a power line just outside.

The juvenile male was travelling down George Street with three passengers when he lost control of the vehicle about 6.30am.

Police arrived immediately at the scene reporting the boys were on their way to Hungry Jack’s after a long night of drinking when the car careened into the post.

“George Street was blocked off for about an hour and a half while police rendered the scene safe and the vehicle was towed away,” arresting officer said.

“Western Power also restricted traffic while the power pole was repaired.”

The driver was charged with driving under the influence before being released.
