East Victoria Park: man tipped out of wheelchair in robbery

POLICE are investigating a robbery in East Victoria Park in which a man was tipped out of his wheelchair.

About 8:30pm on Sunday night the victim, aged in his 50’s, turned into Cardiff Street off Shepperton Road.

As he entered the street a man approached him and asked for a cigarette.

After saying he didn’t smoke, the man produced a knife and demanded the victim’s phone and wallet.

The man said he didn’t have these things, causing the man to grab the wheelchair and tip the victim onto the ground.

While on the ground, the man searched the victim, stealing numerous items including wallet and keys. He then left the area on a bike.

The offender is described as fair skinned, approximately 184cm tall and of skinny build.

He was wearing a blue hooded jumper, white baseball cap and black tracksuit pants.

He was riding a blue mountain bike with white front forks and a brown milk crate on the back with red lights fixed to it.
