East Victoria Park: police appeal for witnesses after man is found with critical head injuries

POLICE want public help to solve the mystery of a man found unconscious near The Park Centre in East Victoria Park on January 27.

St John Ambulance officers attended the carpark of the shopping centre at 11.30pm and located a 57-year-old man lying unconscious in the car park near a large tree near the intersection of Sussex Street and Albany Highway.

The man was conveyed to Royal Perth Hospital where he remains in a critical condition with serious head injuries.

Investigators are working to establish the events that lead to the man receiving these injuries.

Police would like to speak to the occupants of a white Hyundai Hatch and a silver Hyundai van that were seen parked in the carpark at the time.

Police are also appealing for anyone else who may have been in the area between 9:30pm and 11:30pm or who may have CCTV vision of the area to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or to make a report online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au.
