Elderly man injured in robbery

POLICE have found an elderly man’s car after it was stolen in a violent robbery in East Victoria Park.

The 80-year-old man parked his gold 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer hatchback near the rubbish bins on Terminus Lane between 5.30pm to 6pm on July 23.

Police said the man was placing bins along the kerb for collection when a woman entered his vehicle.

The man grabbed at the woman but she sped off and caused the man to lose his balance, fall backwards and hit the ground.

The Mitsubishi Lancer was found at a carpark on Seven Oaks Street in Cannington at 10am today.

Police said there is damage to the vehicle which indicated it may have struck something.

Police said the victim was taken to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment to a laceration across his eyebrow, requiring stitches, and grazing and bruising to his right leg and knee.

The woman is described as being in her late 20s, with brown skin and shoulder length dark hair.

She was seen boarding the train at Queens Park train station around 6.40pm on July 23 and departed at Oats Street train station.
