COMMUTERS have taken to social media to express frustration at public transport issues in the lead-up to today’s historic first AFL match at Optus Stadium.

With a crowd nudging 60,000 expected at the new stadium, Perth’s public transport system was expected to be under pressure, with buses and trains packed to capacity.

Dozens of commuters, who were urged by the West Coast Eagles and Optus Stadium management to leave their cars at home took to the internet to vent their frustrations.

Buses seemed to take most of the criticism, although trains were also struggling to cope under the strain.

Others were more complimentary of the service.
