Flood of food for the needy

Susanne ReillySouthern Gazette

The Belmont charity collects un-used food from 38 supermarkets and distributes it to 63 charities across Perth every week.

It aims to alleviate hunger by rescuing perishable, fresh and nutritious food from cafes, caterers, supermarkets and wholesalers and deliver it to disadvantaged, vulnerable people.

The food they rescue would likely otherwise be thrown out.
