Fruit and vegies for free

Pastor Jeffrey Misso and volunteers will give away 1000 packs of fruit and vegetables from 10am-1pm at 240 Epsom Avenue in Belmont.

It is one of the church’s many charitable programs run by its 130 volunteers.

‘We started this in 2008 when we did a survey in the community and found a lot of people needed fresh fruit and vegetables because the price had gone up,’ Mr Misto said.

‘We make it a carnival event with a jumping castle and people can come into the church for a tea or coffee.’

Produce is from the Canning Vale fruit market and seniors with a senior’s card or on the pension can collect the packs from 9-10am.
