Go Fund Me for injured speed boat racer Phoebe Knudsen

Jaime ShurmerSouthern Gazette

THE West Australian Speed Boat Club set up a Go Fund Me page last night for the family of Phoebe Knudsen as they take time off work to be by her side at Royal Perth Hospital.

Phoebe, 17, became trapped underneath her speed boat when it flipped during a race on the Swan River on February 10.

She had been competing in the 15hp senior class at the club in Burswood and remains in a critical condition in hospital.

The Department of Transport has been investigating the incident and reviewing the safety plan that was in place on the day.

The Department had approved the club’s event for February 10 on the condition it had a detailed safety management plan.

The Support for Phoebe Knudsen and her Family page has a fundraising goal of $10,000.
