REIGNING AFL premiers West Coast will square off against Port Adelaide at Optus Stadium next season as part of a blockbuster Good Friday doubleheader.

The game will take place at 6.10pm Perth time.

The AFL, which has delayed the release of the full 2019 fixture until Thursday, has added a second marquee match for the public holiday on April 19 to follow the annual clash in Melbourne.

Port Adelaide chief executive Keith Thomas confirmed the new stand alone night game and said the Power were keen to turn around their fortunes against the Eagles after two close losses in recent years.

North Melbourne will play Essendon in the earlier game at Marvel (formerly Etihad) Stadium at 2.20pm Perth time.

North Melbourne played the Western Bulldogs last year on the first ever game of AFL on Good Friday.
