The Waterford resident said he has about 1000 gerberas growing in his garden.

‘The kids love to pick them and I’m not going to stop them,’ he said.

Mr Tindale has been a part of the Gerbera Society for over 20 years and said he had been growing them his whole life.

Mr Tindale and his gerberas will be joining other members from the WA Gerbera Society at the WA State Gerbera Championship and Autumn Show this Saturday.

The showcase will feature sun hardened gerbera plants, which will be on sale, along with demonstrations on how to divide gerberas every hour from 11am. Refreshments and other plants will also be on sale.
