Hall of Fame to laud Probus clubs

Staff ReporterSouthern Gazette

In 2011, one hundred women were inducted into the inaugural WA hall of fame as part of International Women’s Day centenary celebrations, followed by another 20 women last year.

This year, the hall of fame is recognising the achievements of WA women’s groups, including Probus clubs.

Probus is formed by Rotary Club members and is a worldwide movement with clubs in 23 countries.

It is for senior community members and those no longer working full-time to gather for companionship and to discover a new lease of life.

Local Probus clubs for women include Mill Point Ladies Probus and South Perth Ladies Probus.

South Perth Probus committee member Rosemary Stanbrook has been part of the branch for 11 years and said she enjoyed it.

Probus offers international and domestic travel, daytrip excursions, luncheons and opportunities to meet new friends.
