Jacaranda centre’s new program connects women

Jessica WarrinerSouthern Gazette

STRONG local women are at the forefront of Jacaranda Community Centre’s new program.

Staff member Tracey Hamel said the program, designed to bring women together and connect the community, would strengthen self-reliance, fight racism and reduce social isolation.

“We will have excursions to places of Aboriginal cultural interest, art classes, craft sessions, cooking classes, personal fitness sessions, aqua-aerobics and selected in-house training like computing for financial purposes, and self-esteem and confidence-building.”
