Karalee on Preston named Best Casual Dining Pub at AHA WA Hospitality Awards for Excellence

CATERING for different people has earned Karalee on Preston the Best Casual Dining Pub at the 2016 Australian Hotels Association (AHA) WA Hospitality Awards for Excellence.

General manager Ashley Cranenburgh said improving the quality of food and the dining experience were just some of the reasons the venue won the award.

“Because it’s an AHA award it’s really encouraging to see we are being recognised collectively as a business and a team,” he said.

“We are trying to enhance the whole dining experience from the food to the beverages and we are trying to make the extra step.

“It’s hard to put the reason why we won the award down to just one but I think our food has played a large part; people can buy a steak and cook it at home so we need to make sure people enjoy the experience.”

Mr Cranenburgh said the feedback he had received from the community was that the restaurant was a warm place.

“It offers so much to so many; whether you are a blue or white collar walker or you are looking for quiet meal, we try to cater for everyone,” he said.

“We are trying to provide good value for money as well as reducing the turn around from ordering to being because we understand people are time poor.

“We won the WA’s Best Steak Sandwich in 2014 so that has inspired us to continue to strive for excellence.”
