Kids have a hand in school’s history

The year was 1956 and the community at Millen Primary is preparing to celebrate the East Victoria Park school's 60th anniversary next year.

At an assembly last week, the school launched its anniversary plans with children in years 2 and 3 presenting old photos printed on canvas.

Teacher Janita Woods said her years 2 and 3 students were busily researching the school's history.

"We have also asked each student and teacher in the school to name and colour in a hand. These will be placed in a circle to represent the community coming together as one in celebration," Ms Woods said.
