Kindness blossoms for fundraiser

So they put those skills to good use last week to support the Cancer Council's Daffodil Day, making handcrafted daffodils.

Mercy Place Lathlain service manager Lorraine Wallis said the craft group was a wonderful caring and sharing group of seniors who offered each other support, advice, encouragement and who also enjoy a good laugh together each week.

"Our craft group ladies have been working hard to make the most wonderful daffodils which they intend to sell to raise money for Daffodil Day.

"This is a cause that is particularly important to them as many have had friends or family members diagnosed with cancer in recent years," she said.

"They are a truly dedicated group of people who have a real commitment to helping others."

Daffodil Day is an annual event to raise funds for the Cancer Council's research, prevention and support services.
