Laughter as Leitti learns

Staff ReporterSouthern Gazette

Professor Watts began mentoring a group of girls struggling with English and has continued working with the Como Secondary College student through the School Volunteer Program.

‘I became involved through several of my friends who had already retired and had joined the school volunteers. Both of them said I would love it and I do,’ Professor Watts said.

Professor Watts helps Leitti with her homework and Leitti said it was their laughter she enjoyed the most.

‘I feel more confident with Robin there as an adult and she knows what she is doing and she teaches me right from wrong, and if I slack off she shows me two sides – my side and the teachers side,’ Leitti said.
