A MURAL has appeared on the side of a business on Wright Street in Kewdale.

Celebrations Carlisle has been getting a makeover, with a graffiti mural by legendary aerosol artist Drew Straker.

Camera-shy Mr Straker, also known as The Muralist, has created popular murals across Perth, including an anti-corruption piece which was commissioned by the WA Corruption and Crime Commission in December last year.

A keen skateboarder, Mr Straker first got into graffiti at 14 and has gone on to teach other young people in art programs for youth at risk.

Celebrations Carlisle managing director Adam O’Brien has been working with Carlisle Primary to organise a program where students will work with the artist to create a design for the fence opposite the school.
