The Rotary Club of Como and the youth Interactor members packed kits with plastic sheets, soap, gloves, a scalpel, string and gauze into boxes.
Como Rotary Club spokeswoman Samantha Fewster said the kits might seem simple to Australian society but would go a long way in other countries.
“It seems simple to us, especially since we have access to hospitals but they can easily save a life in a developing country,” she said.
“We take so much for granted here in Australia and to think that a clean scalpel and string could lower the chance of disease and blood loss really opens your eyes to how lucky we are.”

READ NOWMoney was raised for the kits in November last year, when the club organised a community bubble soccer competition.
“We were able to purchase 200 birthing kits, with the Rotary Club of Como purchasing another 400,” Ms Fewster said. “We chose to support this cause because some of our members had previously heard about the project, and it would be a great way for our members to participate in a hands-on activity.”
