Pam Kidd and her mother Alma Harris will show their roses at the Rose Society of Western Australia’s Autumn Rose Show next month.

Ms Harris, at 99 the oldest member of the society, joined the society 17 years ago after moving to Perth.

She signed her daughter up four years later and both have been members ever since.

‘We always had roses when we lived in the country,’ Ms Kidd said.

‘My mother was a keen gardener and enjoyed gardening wherever she lived.’ People attending the show can see blooms exhibited in various judged classes, including floral art.

A display of old roses by Heritage Roses of Australia will also be exhibited.

Gifts suitable for Mother’s Day will be on sale.
