Main Roads pays to fix black spot

Michele NugentSouthern Gazette

The Town of Victoria Park will receive $146,667 from Main Roads WA for the works, which will include a new roundabout, street widening, pram ramps, traffic islands, drainage, road resurfacing and path modifications.

Accident history at the intersection involved through and right turning traffic entering Cargill Street.

More than 70 per cent of the more than 40 nearby residents who responded to consultation by the Town supported the roundabout proposal, which is designed to reduce speed and better control high traffic volumes, especially around peak school pick-up and drop-off times.
