The 62-year-old is the charity’s longest serving volunteer in the Belmont area and is a favourite among customers, who often seek her out at the Vinnies stores in Belmont and Rivervale where she works.

‘I love helping people and I want to make them feel happy,’ Ms Massang said.

Ms Massang began volunteering at Vinnies Rivervale in October 1993 and later joined the Belmont conference in 1999.

Happier to talk about her work than herself, Ms Massang said she enjoyed providing customer service and giving people a shopping experience they would not get at major retailers.

‘We’re not just a retail shop, we offer more than that, we make them feel like a millionaire when they leave,’ she said.

‘We are here to make them feel happy.’
