THE owners of Millstream Patisserie believe they have the best muffins in WA.

Now they have a gold medal at the Perth Royal Show, they have every right to believe so.

The owners of the South Perth bakery, Hieu Dinh and Yen Ma, are ecstatic about the win following a big six months in which they moved from Mends Street to the South Shore shopping centre.

They also won bronze medals for their vanilla slices and footy pies in a positive sign for their baking prowess.

Mr Dinh said they submitted several flavours of muffins for the competition, including blueberry, strawberry and banana choc chip.

“I dropped them off and then came back in the afternoon and that’s when I saw the result,” he said.

“I was very happy but I though we would do well; I was confident.

“We’ve entered every year since 2006 because the competitions teach us a lot.”

Mrs Ma said the win confirmed their belief that they had the best muffins in the state.

“We are number one, we were the only bakery to win gold,” she said.

“There were more than 70 bakeries that entered, so it means a lot to us.”
