Jenayay (17) entered the beauty pageant after the director of Miss Galaxy Australia approached and scouted her at a shopping centre.
The Penrhos student said she thought the pageant would fit her personality perfectly.
“After researching the pageant I felt like I had discovered the place for me, I knew I’d enjoy doing a form of modelling that had a background with charity and community service,” she said.

READ NOW“This pageant also allows your personality to come through and I really like that as opposed to catalogue modelling.”
Jenayah holds the title of Miss Teen South Perth Galaxy and said she was hoping to make it to the national finals.
“It’s a lot of hard work, effort and time and it’s been crazy and intense but I am absolutely loving it,” Jenayah said.
“I didn’t even expect to be accepted so I am grateful to have been given the opportunity to compete in the state finals.”
As part of involvement in the pageant, contestants are required to complete community service and Jenayah has wasted no time giving back to her neighbourhood.
In the space of a week, she donated pet food to local animal refuges, spent time working at the Southcare Op-Shop, cooked dinner for children and families at the Ronald McDonald house, volunteered with elderly and worked at her local church.
“I am currently raising fund for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and so far have raised over $600,” she said.
The Miss Teen state final is January 28.
