The City of Belmont will host a month of celebrations

The Let’s Celebrate Belmont Jazz in the Park performance will include Swing Zing dancers to take the audience back to the 1920s with their floorshow.

Each Wednesday the Pop Art Café will emerge out the front of the Ruth Faulkner Public Library from noon to 3pm.

Artists will create chalk art, murals, yarn bombing and offer board games while food trucks including The Wagon, Jumplings, Bollygood and Vince’s Pizza will serve up tasty lunch offerings.

Pack a picnic and head to Garvey Park in Ascot for a free outdoor screening of the Muppets Most Wanted on November 14 from 6 to 9pm.

The Belmont Family Day Out will be held at Faulkner Park on November 16 from 2pm to 5pm and is free. Activities include a vintage photo booth, traditional games and kite making.

Those aged two to four will enjoy the team from SciTech show involving shadows and light, magnets and motion.

Events that require bookings include a theatrical performance of Secrets Mothers Keep at the library on November 20, 6-7pm. Call 9477 7150 to book.

Pop up family sushi cooking demonstrations outside the library on November 22, at 2pm, are free for City of Belmont residents and cost $5 for non-residents. Call 9477 7184.

The festival finale will include entertainment and a spectacular fireworks display at Faulkner Park on November 29 from 5 to 10pm.
