On average, the City has issued 132 parking infringements a week resulting in more than $440,000 being collected, an increase of more than $10,000 from 2012-2013.

Although the City is unable to obtain exact figures, it said the South Perth precinct, between Labouchere Road and South Perth Esplanade was the area with the highest number of infringements.

January 2014 saw the highest number of infringements, with 936 issued.

‘The City believes this was partly due to the Australia Day public holiday relating to the Skyworks event,’ Mayor Sue Doherty said.

‘This financial year to date, the City has 347 unpaid infringements.

‘All of these have been referred to the Fines Enforcement Registry for collection should the fine remain unpaid.’
