Once a contractor has been selected, demolition of the site is expected to start at the end of next month and will last for about six weeks.

During demolition, the site will be fenced and the contractor will be required to comply with the necessary legislation, including the safe removal of asbestos and suppression of dust.

Bounded by Bradshaw Crescent, Conochie Crescent and Welwyn Avenue, the hub includes a new Manning library, community hall and meeting spaces.

‘The Manning Community Hub development is a $16 million civic project for residents in Manning and Salter Point,’ he said.

‘It is an exciting new development for locals and the broader community of the City of South Perth.

‘Once complete, the hub will provide a vibrant, connected facility with integrated community services located in one place.’
