Newborns get their jabs

Staff ReporterSouthern Gazette

The two males and two females are the third litter born at the zoo in 12 months as part of an Australasian breeding program for the Asian small-clawed otter. Perth Zoo senior vet Simone Vitali gave the pups their vaccinations.

‘They are looking very healthy and progressing well, weighing between 550 and 780 grams each,’ Dr Vitali said.

Older siblings were the first otters born at the zoo some 18 years.
