TODD Meyn went from riding around the Belmont Skate Park to doing tricks with action sports group Nitro Circus.

The Belmont-raised BMX star will give back to the community when Nitro Circus stars visit the skate park on Saturday between 12pm-3pm as part of Youth Week.

“I started riding at the skate park trying to stay out of trouble,” he said.

“When I was 15, I had the chance to move to the United States and then travel the world.

“I was asked to do one show with Nitro Circus and before I left the arena they gave me the tap of the shoulder and asked me to join permanently.

“I grew up watching Travis Pastrana and now I can call him for a beer.”

Meyn said he went to the City of Belmont with the idea of holding the event and was pleased they were on board with it.

“We’ll have Travis Pastrana down here, Aaron ‘Wheelz’ Fotherinham and Ryan Williams so that should attract a few people down,” he said.

“There will also be people from Headspace and Dismantle at the event because mental health is something I’m passionate about.”

People are being encouraged to bring their helmets, bikes, scooters and skateboards to the event.

Meyn will also perform with Nitro Circus at Optus Stadium on Sunday, April 22.

“I’m looking forward to it because it’s a hometown show and it’s probably going to be our biggest of the tour,” he said.

“It’s going to be unreal, I’ll tell my future kids about it when I’m older.”

The fun extends beyond the skate park with the City of Belmont’s Youth Services The BASE@Belmont’s free ‘A Fab Fun Day Out’ event in Faulkner Park.

The whole family will love the free entertainment on offer, including a silent disco, Freedom Fairies, airbrush tattoos, inflatables, a DJ and circus workshop.
