No change to free parking periods in Victoria Park despite ticket machine error

Matt ZisSouthern Gazette

THE Town of Victoria Park says rangers did not ping motorists for overstaying in paid parking bays where a ticketing error appeared to halve the allowable free time to just 15 minutes.

The software programming error was brought to light on Thursday, but the council says the timing could have been out for three weeks.

A council spokeswoman blamed a recent software update and said the council was working with its ticket machine supplier to resolve the issue.

“Some ticket machines are issuing tickets showing a 15 minute time limit instead of 30 minutes, as signposted,” she said.
