No further action on height concerns

The council received a petition last April asking for changes to planning provisions to help protect the residents’ views of the Canning River and the streetscape.

The petition also outlined concerns about recently approved developments.

In June, the council endorsed preliminary consultation for a scheme amendment to change height limits.

An officer’s report said the City received 66 completed questionnaires and other written submission representing 62 properties during the consultation period, and also held a community workshop.

The council said it would not initiate the amendment and no further action would be taken.
