Old zoo devils |retiring types

Ronnie and Ochre are seven years old and most Tasmanian devils in captivity live to seven to eight years of age, while very few wild devils live longer than five years.

Senior keeper Steve Catwell said one of his favourite things about the Tasmanian devils was the way they fought over their food.

‘These guys are a bit older so they are a bit more placid and they really appreciate us coming in to feed them,’ he said.
