This is an exciting opportunity to bring the sport which is traditionally raced on trails along the Darling Scarp to a venue where the general public can experience it, he said.

According to Wode, the course will challenge the top riders and thrill spectators.

The course will feature a variety of imposing obstacles including a car jump, drop off a shipping container, jumping through a tree and several tall banked wall rides.

It will be custom built at the Edward Millen Reserve in East Victoria Park.

The event will include several cycling events, with an Urban Downhill race, MTB (mountain bike) Slopestyle, BMX jump jam and a pump-track shootout, all held on a course specifically constructed for the event by Perth-based Three Chillies Trail Design and Construction.

Riders will come from across Australia and New Zealand to attend the event and compete against local favourites from the Peel Districts Mountain Bike Club and WA Gravity Enduro.

Other attractions are Victoria Parks Thank God its Friday Hawkers Markets, Red Bull DJs, Rock and Roll Mountain Biking free cycling skills clinics for children and Freestyle Nows BMX stunt shows.
