The retired chef had never owned a dog before but adopted her late father's german shepherd, Lassie, and said she couldn't be happier.
"I couldn't own a dog previously as I worked full-time, but Lassie is the best thing that's ever happened to me and I really want to support the work the RSPCA does, and knowing I can combine this fundraiser with a morning tea for friends is just the icing on the cake," she said.
RSPCA WA chief executive David van Ooran said Cupcake Day was a fun way for animal lovers who wanted to help make a difference to raise much-needed funds for RSPCA WA's work.
