A WORLD of adventures has just landed at Redcliffe Primary School, with Perth Airport donating $5000 worth of books to celebrate Book Week.

Book Week is the annual national campaign which aims to bring children and books together to celebrate literature and a love of reading. This year’s theme is Escape to Everywhere.

“Our students and teachers love dressing up for Book Week and this little bit of fun helps us to expand our imagination while we read,” Redcliffe Primary School principal Mark Hendon said.

“Book Week is a fantastic opportunity to remind us all of the magic of reading and this incredible donation has enabled us to buy new and replace old books for our library.”

Perth Airport with Dymocks Children’s Charities has donated over $50,000 worth of books to local schools since 2012.

Chief Corporate Services Officer Debra Blaskett said the airport was committed to supporting the local community, especially those that focus on future generations.

“We hope that these new resources will help the students at Redcliffe Primary School to develop a love of reading and a vibrant imagination,” she said.
