Perth Racing to host Good Friday event at Ascot Racecourse again

AFTER a successful first Good Friday event at Ascot Racecourse, Perth Racing will again host racing on March 30.

The 2017 Perth Racing made history as the only Race Club in Australia to host a race meeting on the Good Friday public holiday, proving a success with punters with more than 6000 people through the gates.

Perth Racing managing director John Yovich said with no entry fee people who normally wouldn’t go to the races loved coming to Ascot on Good Friday with the day having something for everyone.

“We’ve got such amazing grounds here at Ascot, with lots of shaded areas, pavilions, bars and seated spots on course,” he said.

“When the weather is cooler like it is at Easter – a day out at Ascot is delightful.

“It seems that people really enjoyed easing into the Easter Long weekend with the Good Friday Racing.”

This year’s event will include, live music, free Easter eggs, food trucks, pony rides, bouncy castle, obstacle course, face painter and a visit from the Easter Bunny.

The Group 3 Gimcrack Stakes will feature on the eight race program schedule with gates open 12pm and the first race from 1.40pm.
